春夜别友人二首·其一
银烛吐青烟，
金樽对绮筵。
离堂思琴瑟，
别路绕山川。
明月隐高树，
长河没晓天。
悠悠洛阳道，
此会在何年。
Silver candles breathe blue smoke in the hall,
Gold goblets face the gorgeous feast with wine.
In the parting hall, music stirs the heart;
The farewell road winds around hills and streams.
The bright moon hides behind the tall trees;
The Milky Way sinks in the dawn sky.
Long, long stretches the road to Luoyang;
When shall we meet again, in what year?
逐句注释
银烛吐青烟，
银烛指洁白发亮的蜡烛；吐青烟用拟人手法写烛烟轻袅，点明春夜饯别的时间与环境，也渲染出静默含愁的氛围。

离堂思琴瑟，
离堂是饯别之所；琴瑟本指弦乐器，也常象征和谐情谊。此处写席间乐声触动离思，以听觉意象加深惜别之情。
离堂 is the hall of farewell; 琴瑟 refers to stringed instruments and often symbolizes harmonious friendship. Here the music at the banquet stirs thoughts of parting, deepening the emotion through auditory imagery.
别路绕山川，
别路指友人远行之路；绕山川写道路盘绕于山水之间，以空间意象表现旅途遥远、前程渺茫，暗含依依不舍。
The farewell road is the route the friend will take; 绕山川 describes it winding through mountains and rivers. This spatial image suggests a long journey and an uncertain future, hinting at deep reluctance.
明月隐高树，
明月西沉，隐没在高树之后，说明夜已深沉、将尽。以月落写时间推移，也烘托离别前的沉默与惆怅。
The bright moon sinks westward and hides behind tall trees, showing that the night is deep and nearly over. The setting moon marks the passage of time and heightens the silent melancholy before parting.
长河没晓天，
长河在此多指银河；没晓天写银河渐隐于拂晓天色之中。以天象变化暗示通宵话别，天将破晓而人将远行。
长河 here usually means the Milky Way; 没晓天 describes it fading into the dawn sky. The changing sky suggests they have talked all night, and as dawn breaks the traveler must depart.
悠悠洛阳道，
悠悠形容道路漫长遥远；洛阳道点明友人将赴洛阳。叠词增强音节悠长之感，也写出前路迢递、离思绵长。
悠悠 describes the road as long and distant; 洛阳道 indicates the friend is going to Luoyang. The reduplicative word lengthens the rhythm and conveys both the far road and endless parting thoughts.
此会在何年。
此会指今日这样的相聚；何年以反问作结，把惜别之情推向高潮，表达重逢难期、后会无期的深沉感慨。
此会 means a gathering like today's; 何年 ends with a rhetorical question, bringing the reluctance to a climax and expressing the profound sorrow of not knowing when, or whether, they will meet again.

此诗约作于陈子昂青年时期将赴洛阳、与友人春夜饯别之际。诗中由烛烟、金樽、绮筵写起，继而写乐声、别路、月落、银河隐没，最后落到洛阳道上重逢难期，层层推进，表现春夜宴别时深挚而不尽的离愁。
